This function was held in the Jackson McDonald Boardroom in St Georges Terrace, Perth on Thursday the 27th of May 2021 to showcase the Committee’s intentions for the memorial and to also reveal for the first time the chosen memorial design.

Guests were invited from Government, the Greek clergy, government agencies, local government, business, and a wide range of community groups.

Amongst the invited guests were Mr Richard Sandover, one of the Committee’s Patrons and Mr Arthur Leggett, a 102 year old  WWII veteran, who fought in the Battle of Crete.

The Committee’s other patron, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church of Australia, was unable to attend and was represented at the function by His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyaneon.
